Privacy & Data
Privacy Policy
How Fundur collects, uses, and shares information when you visit our website or ask us to help you find business financing — written in plain language, including what we pass along to financing providers and what we don’t.
On this page
1. About This Policy
Norman Advisors LLC, a New York limited liability company doing business as Fundur (“Fundur,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), operates the website at fundur.com (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the circumstances in which we disclose it.
Fundur is a business financing marketplace, not a direct lender. We do not make lending decisions and we do not fund financing ourselves. Our role is to understand what a business is looking for and connect it with third-party financing providers who may be able to fund the request. That role shapes almost everything in this policy — in particular Section 5, which explains what we pass along to those providers.
This policy covers information we collect through the Site and through the financing request process we operate. It does not cover how a financing provider, lender, bank, or other third party handles your information once they receive it. Those companies are separate businesses with their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to read them before you share information with them or accept an offer.
Three related documents govern different things, and we have deliberately kept them distinct:
- This Privacy Policy describes our information practices.
- Our Terms of Use governs your use of the Site and our services.
- Our SMS Terms & Conditions governs text-message communications.
Where a step in the financing process requires your specific permission — for example, permission to obtain a credit report — that permission is requested separately, at the point where it applies — for a full financing application, in the authorization each owner reviews and signs. This Privacy Policy describes information practices; it is not itself an authorization, and submitting a form on the Site does not by itself grant permissions that are requested elsewhere.
2. Information We Collect
The information we collect depends on how you use the Site and how far you go in the financing process. Someone who only reads an article gives us far less information than someone who completes a full financing application.
Information you give us
Our short introductory form asks for a limited set of details: how much financing you are looking for, how long you have been in business, your business type and industry, your average monthly revenue, what you need the financing for, your personal credit score range, and your name, business name, email address, and phone number.
If your request moves forward, financing providers typically require more. Depending on your financing request, the provider reviewing it, and where you are in the process, we may collect additional categories of information when you provide it or when it is required during the financing process, including:
- identity and contact information for each owner, including home address, email address, and mobile phone number;
- business information, such as legal and trade name, business address, business structure, and Employer Identification Number;
- details of the financing you are requesting;
- revenue and other financial and business information;
- ownership information, including each owner’s ownership percentage;
- business start information;
- information about financing you already have;
- personal credit-related information;
- date of birth;
- Social Security number;
- bank statements;
- other financial or business documents you upload;
- information about other owners who hold 20% or more of the business;
- summaries and analyses we prepare from the bank statements you upload (see Section 3);
- a copy of the completed, signed application;
- records of your application and of the consents and authorizations given, including each signer’s typed electronic signature, the date and time the application was viewed and signed, the IP address and browser information of the device used to sign, and identifiers of the version of the document that was signed; and
- your communications with us.
We ask for the minimum needed at each stage. Not every item above is requested from every applicant, and none of the items beyond the short introductory form are collected simply by visiting the Site. Sensitive items such as a Social Security number, date of birth, or bank statements are requested only as part of the full financing application, because financing providers need them to evaluate a request — never on the short introductory form.
If you provide information about another person — for example, a co-owner or guarantor — you should have that person’s permission to share it with us, and you should let them know that this policy applies to it.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the Site, some information is collected automatically by your browser and by the analytics tools described in Section 6. This typically includes your IP address, device and browser type, operating system, referring page, the pages you view, the links you select, and the dates and times of your visits. This information is primarily statistical and is not used to identify you by name.
If you begin the short introductory form, your browser saves what you have entered so far — using your browser’s local storage on your own device, not a cookie — so you can pick up where you left off. That saved draft stays in your browser and expires after about seven days. You can remove it sooner by clearing your browser’s stored data for the Site.
When you reply to an email we sent, our email systems process information about the reply message — such as the sender address, the time it was received, the identifiers that link it to our earlier message, and the sending server’s authentication results — so we can recognize that you replied. This automated step does not read or store the content of your reply; our team reads replies as ordinary correspondence. We also receive delivery information from our email providers, such as whether a message could not be delivered or was reported as spam.
Information from other sources
We may receive information about you from sources other than you directly. For example, a financing provider may tell us the status or outcome of a request you submitted through us, and analytics providers give us aggregated reporting about how the Site is used. Where a step in the financing process involves obtaining information from a credit reporting agency or a similar source, that step is presented to you separately and requires your specific permission at the time.
We may also receive business contact information — such as a business name, a contact’s name, email address and phone number, and basic details of a financing need — from business-financing lead providers, referral partners and other business relationships, and use it to contact that business about financing.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to:
- respond to your inquiry and understand what kind of financing you are looking for;
- prepare, submit, and follow up on your financing request with financing providers;
- review the bank statements you upload — extracting account and transaction information, calculating measures such as deposits, balances, and recurring payments, and preparing summaries — so that we can understand your business’s finances, identify financing providers that may be a fit, and present your request to them;
- communicate with you about your request, including questions, status updates, and next steps;
- send you information about financing options, resources, and services that may be relevant, subject to the choices described in Section 10;
- decide whether to send, pause, or stop automated follow-up emails, based on your activity on your request (for example, completing application steps, uploading documents, or signing) and on whether you replied to us;
- stop email to addresses that unsubscribe, that cannot receive mail, or that report our messages as spam;
- keep records of the consents, authorizations, and communications associated with your request;
- operate, maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Site and our services;
- understand how the Site is used, in aggregate, so we can make it more useful;
- detect, investigate, and help prevent fraud, misuse, and security incidents; and
- comply with applicable law and meet our legal, regulatory, recordkeeping, and dispute-resolution obligations.
We do not use your information to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you. Our review of bank statements uses software to organize and calculate information from the statements; it does not approve or decline financing. Financing decisions are made by the financing providers who review your request, not by Fundur.
4. How We Share Information
We disclose information in four situations, each described below. Sharing with financing providers is the most significant of them and has its own section.
Financing providers
See Section 5, which describes this in full.
Service providers who support our operations
We use third-party companies to run our business, and some of them handle information on our behalf. These currently include website hosting and infrastructure providers, cloud computing, database, and file-storage services, customer-relationship-management software, form processing, email delivery and business email (Amazon Web Services and Google Workspace), document security scanning, address lookup, and website analytics. Service providers receive only the information they need to perform their function for us, and they are not permitted to use it for their own independent marketing purposes.
Legal, safety, and compliance
We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that doing so is required by law or legal process, or is reasonably necessary to comply with a regulatory obligation, respond to a lawful request from a government or law enforcement authority, enforce our agreements, investigate suspected fraud or misuse, or protect the rights, property, or safety of Fundur, our users, or others.
Business transfers
If Fundur is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar transaction, information we hold may be transferred as part of that transaction. We would take reasonable steps to require that the information continue to be treated consistently with this policy, and we would update this page if our practices changed as a result.
Outside of these situations, we do not disclose the information you give us to unrelated third parties for their own independent marketing purposes.
5. Financing Providers
Connecting businesses with financing providers is what Fundur does, so it is worth being precise about how information moves.
When you submit a financing request, we provide the information in that request to one or more third-party financing providers so that they can evaluate whether they are able and willing to fund it. Depending on the provider and the type of financing, this can include the business and financial information described in Section 2; bank statements and other supporting documents you have supplied; summaries or analyses we have prepared from them; a copy of the signed application; and each owner’s personal information, including Social Security number and date of birth, which each owner authorizes us to share when they sign the application.
Once a financing provider receives your information, that provider handles it under its own privacy policy and its own practices. Fundur does not control what a financing provider does with information after it is disclosed, and a provider may contact you directly.
Fundur is compensated by the financing provider in the form of a commission if and when a financing transaction actually funds. We are not paid for transmitting your information to a financing provider, and we do not receive payment simply because your information was sent to one.
Some state privacy laws define terms such as “sale” and “sharing” differently. Fundur discloses information to financing providers for the purpose of evaluating and facilitating the financing request you ask us to help with, on the compensation basis described above. Where applicable law gives you rights concerning a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, we will provide the rights and choices required by that law.
Separately, and regardless of how those terms are defined: we do not sell or share SMS consent or mobile opt-in information with third parties for their own marketing purposes. See Section 7.
6. Cookies, Analytics, and Similar Technologies
The Site uses cookies and similar technologies. Cookies are small text files placed on your device that let a site remember information about your visit.
The analytics we operate on the Site are Google’s. Specifically, we use Google Analytics 4, deployed through the Google tag, together with Google Search Console for search reporting and Google PageSpeed Insights for performance measurement. These tools tell us things like how many people visited a page, which pages are most used, roughly where visitors came from, and how quickly pages load. Google processes this information as described in Google’s own privacy documentation, and Google may set its own cookies in your browser to do so. Analytics is not collected from logged-in administrators of the Site.
Beyond our analytics configuration, other cookies on the Site are set by the platforms and infrastructure that host and operate it, for purposes such as maintaining a session and measuring traffic. Our website hosting provider, GoDaddy, also runs a traffic-measurement script on the Site.
Our application form also uses your browser’s local storage, which is not a cookie, to keep a draft of the short introductory form on your own device, as described in Section 2.
We do not currently operate advertising or social-media tracking pixels on the Site.
Your cookie choices
The Site does not currently display a cookie consent banner. You can still control cookies in the following ways:
- Most browsers let you block or delete cookies, and block third-party cookies specifically, in their settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the Site work.
- Google offers a Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on that prevents Google Analytics from collecting data about your visits across sites that use it.
- Your browser or device may offer a “Do Not Track” setting. There is no common industry standard for how sites should respond to those signals, and the Site does not currently respond to them differently.
If we add a consent or preference mechanism to the Site, we will describe it here.
7. Communications — Email, Phone, and Text Messages
If you submit a request through the Site, we may contact you about it by email, phone, or text message. Contacting you about a request you submitted is the core of what we do.
We email you about your request. If your request does not move forward, or we have your business contact information in connection with a business-financing inquiry or lead, we may also send you automated follow-up emails about financing for your business. These are scheduled — more often in the first weeks, then about every few months — and stop or pause when you unsubscribe, when you reply to us (until a representative follows up), or when an email cannot be delivered or is reported as spam.
Every marketing or follow-up email includes an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing applies to your email address and stops all of our marketing and follow-up emails to it, across any requests; it does not stop messages that relate directly to a request you have in progress. We keep a record of your unsubscribe so we can honor it, and we do not automatically re-subscribe you. Our emails do not use tracking pixels, open tracking, click tracking, or rewritten links.
Phone
We may call you at the number you provide to discuss your financing request. You can ask us at any time to stop calling.
Text messages
Our financing form does not ask you to tick a box for text messages. Instead, next to where you enter your phone number, the form shows this notice:
“By providing your phone number, you agree that Fundur may call and text you regarding your financing request. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.”
Calls and text messages under that notice are about the financing request you submitted. If you sign a full financing application, the authorization you sign also covers contact about that application. Fundur does not currently send marketing or promotional text messages; if we offer them in the future, we will ask for your separate consent first.
You can stop text messages at any time by replying STOP, and you can request help by replying HELP. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies. Full details are in our SMS Terms & Conditions.
Fundur does not sell or share SMS consent, mobile opt-in information, or the phone numbers collected for text messaging with third parties for those third parties’ own marketing purposes. This applies whether or not you continue with a financing request.
8. Data Security
We take reasonable measures designed to protect the information we hold. In practice, these currently include:
- encrypting information in transit — the Site is served over HTTPS, and information submitted through our financing process is transmitted over encrypted connections;
- storing full financing applications, signed applications, and uploaded bank statements in encrypted storage that is not publicly accessible, with Social Security numbers and dates of birth protected by an additional layer of encryption;
- restricting access to systems and information to those who need it to do their work, and logging access to Social Security numbers and dates of birth;
- managing credentials through a dedicated secrets-management service rather than embedding them in application code; and
- keeping automated backups of application data.
A copy of the information you submit on the short introductory form is also kept by our website platform, which our hosting provider operates, and is protected by that platform’s own security measures.
Information such as a Social Security number, date of birth, or a bank statement is sensitive, and we treat it that way: we ask for it only as part of the full financing application, and we limit who can access it to Fundur personnel working on your request, the service providers that operate the systems where it is stored, and the financing providers you authorize us to share it with.
No method of transmitting or storing information electronically can be guaranteed to be completely secure. We cannot promise that information will never be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed in circumstances outside our reasonable control, and we do not claim that our systems are impenetrable. If you believe your interaction with us is no longer secure, please contact us at the address in Section 15.
9. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to process and support financing requests, maintain business and transaction records, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and satisfy applicable legal, regulatory, accounting, and recordkeeping requirements.
Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and the context in which it was collected. Records connected to a completed financing transaction are generally retained longer than an inquiry that did not proceed.
Because a signed application is a record of what was agreed, we keep the application that was signed, the authorizations and consents that were given, and the evidence of when and how they were given.
We keep a record of email addresses that have unsubscribed, cannot receive mail, or reported our messages as spam for as long as we send email, so that we continue to honor those choices and delivery results.
You can ask us about the information we hold about you, and request its deletion, as described in Section 10. Where we are required to retain certain information, we will tell you.
10. Your Privacy Choices
The following choices are available to everyone who contacts us, regardless of where you live and regardless of whether a particular privacy law applies to us.
- Marketing email. Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or email us and ask. An unsubscribe applies to that email address for all of our marketing and follow-up email.
- Text messages. Reply STOP to any message from us.
- Phone calls. Tell us, or email us, and we will stop calling.
- Cookies and analytics. See Section 6.
- Access, correction, and deletion. Email us and we will do our best to tell you what information we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, or delete it.
To make a request, email info@fundur.com and tell us what you are asking for. So that we do not disclose your information to someone else, we may need to ask you for information that lets us reasonably verify who you are and match your request to our records. We will not charge you for a request or treat you differently for making one.
There are limits. We may need to keep certain information — including signed applications and records of the authorizations and consents that were given — to meet a legal or recordkeeping obligation, to resolve a dispute, or to prevent fraud. And once a financing provider has received your information, we cannot delete it from that provider’s systems on your behalf — you would need to contact them directly.
11. State Privacy Rights
A number of U.S. states have comprehensive consumer privacy laws that give residents rights over their personal information, including rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of it, and to opt out of certain uses. These laws generally apply only to businesses that meet specific thresholds — typically based on annual revenue, on the number of state residents whose information the business handles, or on the share of revenue a business derives from selling personal information.
Based on our current size and how we operate, we do not believe Fundur meets the applicability thresholds under most of these laws today. Our annual revenue is below the level at which the California Consumer Privacy Act applies on a revenue basis, we handle the personal information of far fewer California residents than the volume threshold contemplates, and we do not derive our revenue from selling personal information — we are paid a commission by a financing provider when a transaction funds, as described in Section 5.
That is a statement about statutory applicability, not a statement that we ignore these rights. We extend the choices described in Section 10 to everyone, in every state, as a matter of practice. If you are a resident of a state with a comprehensive privacy law and you would like to exercise a right under it, email us and say which state you are writing from and what you are asking for. We will treat the request seriously and respond, and if a legal requirement applies to us we will meet it.
These laws, their thresholds, and our own size all change over time. We review this section as our business grows, and if Fundur becomes subject to a law that requires additional disclosures, request procedures, appeal rights, or an opt-out mechanism, we will add them here and update the “Last Updated” date.
If you use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf, we may ask for proof that you gave the agent permission to act for you.
12. Children’s Privacy
The Site and our services are intended for business owners and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at info@fundur.com and we will take steps to delete it.
13. Third-Party Websites and Services
The Site links to websites and services operated by other companies — including financing providers, and including third-party resources referenced in our educational content. Selecting one of those links takes you to a site we do not control.
This Privacy Policy does not apply to any third-party site or service. We are not responsible for their content, their security, or how they handle your information. If you are asked to provide information on a third-party site, review that company’s privacy policy first.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as our business, our technology, or applicable law changes. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page.
This version describes our full financing application, including the authorization each owner reviews and signs. We will update this policy again if our information practices change.
If we make a change that materially affects how we handle information we have already collected from you, we will take reasonable steps to tell you — for example, by a notice on the Site or by email. Because we do not send an individual notice for every routine update, checking this page periodically is the best way to stay current.
15. Contact Us
Questions about this Privacy Policy, or requests about your information, can be sent to info@fundur.com. Please include enough detail for us to understand what you are asking for, and we will respond as promptly as we reasonably can.
Email is currently the best way to reach us about privacy matters. If you have a question about a financing request that is already in progress, the fastest route is to reply to the email thread you already have with your Fundur advisor.
Questions about your privacy?
Email us at info@fundur.com. You can also review our SMS Terms for how we handle text-message communications.
Fundur is a business financing marketplace, not a direct lender. Financing decisions are made by third-party financing providers, each of which handles your information under its own privacy policy.
